Windows Small Business Server 2008 helps Kedari Capital, leading investment bankers, gain better security over vital business processes.
Kedari Capital Limited, an Investment Banking firm registered with the Nigerian Stock Exchange needed to move their IT infrastructure from a basic level to a more dynamic one.
Recognizing a robust IT foundation and a clear deployment roadmap as keys to business success, Kedari prepared to implement a solution that provides a base for future development and yields immediate gains in data retention and security while providing a better user experience. They also needed to centralize data for more efficient storage, access and backup. Essential Line-of-Business applications also needed to be centralized.
Working with Microsoft Small Business Specialists, Vicinity Limited, Kedari Capital deployed Windows Small Business Server 2008 Standard, Premium Edition. This includes a license for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 for email, Windows SharePoint® Services 3.0 (with advanced collaboration tools), as well as a second license for Windows Server 2008 R2 complete with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 for Small Business (which provided the latest database technology).
The new infrastructure provides improved collaboration, remote web access and offers better performance and reliability. Kedari Capital Limited was able to keep costs to a minimum by buying a server with various integrated components as compared to the cost of individual purchase of the technologies involved. Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 Premium Edition includes several Microsoft products optimized for file and print sharing, collaboration, extensive E-mail support and a management server all-in-one.
